Member of NY Assembly
George & Hannah Marsh Palmer settled in the Sarotoga Patent in 1764 and were members of the First Congregational Church at Stillwater, NY. There was a Rev. Daniel Marsh preaching at this church in 1800 who may have been the son of Hannah's first cousin, Amos Marsh, who died during the Rev. War.
In 1750, George purchased a grist mill and saw mill and bought 200 acres in 1764. In 1773, George acquired another 305 acres. Present-day Stillwater sits on this latter acreage. He was a prominent figure in the Stillwater area in this time period.
It appears that he was on the American side during the Revolution serving as an ensign for NY. Perhaps he switched sides to save himself & family for it was said that only the rich, who were friends of the king of England, were able to buy land in the Saratoga Patent.
Not all accounts has Amy as a daughter.
