"In 1814 he served as volunteer in a company commanded by Capt. Edmund B. Hill, and was in the battle of Plattsburg, N.Y., Sept. 11, 1814. He was also Colonel of militia afterward. He represented Cornwall in the State Legislature for several years. Was town clerk for 20 years. Was deacon of the church. Was a farmer and living in Cornwall in 1859."
