"Recollections ..." Eldest of 9 children; Embarked on 20 Sep 1735 at Gravesend in the ship 'Catherine' for Charleston, South Carolina. Landed on 17 Nov 1735. Bought land on Cape Fear River near Wilmington, North Carolina. In 1765 he left North Carolina and moved to Boston leaving his nephew Thomas Clark in charge of the property. In about 1776 his estate. Point Repose and other lands including lots in Wilmington were confiscated 'owing to his adherence to the Crown'
