she was single when she sailed to America with her father and family
"The Family of Reverend Peter Bulkeley" by D.L.Jacobus 1933, p 113 Sarah is was15 when she sailed on the DEFENCE in 1635 with her father Reverend John Jones. Her father was associated with Rev. Peter Bulkeley at Concord Mass.
and he became the first minister at Fairfield. John's will of Jan 17, 1664/65 named his daughter, the widow Sarah Wilson.
The will of Sarah Wilson ("sometimes Sarah Bulkeley") April 26, 1677, codicl Feb 15, 1680, proved Jan 2, 1683 mentions da. Sarah wife of Eleazer Browne of New Haven, da. Rebecca wife of Joseph Whelplie of Fairfield, da. Hannah, s-i-l Mr. Eliphalet Jones' wife, sister Elizabeth Hill, 2 sons John & Joseph, b-i-l Mr. Gershom Bulkeley.
