BIOGRAPHY: arr at Great Yarmouth County, Norfolk at age 32 with wife Joan (age 23) and child unknown. He had a grant of land that year in Salem, but did not move there. He was a Selectman in 1653 and a Constable in 1664. He reportedly died at age 98, but the inscription on his grave said he was 88. He exaggerated a lot and this was shown in his will that he had written. It was probated 1 Apr 1693 and said "Being by the patience of God near and hundred years old." It names only sons Joseph and Benjamin, daughter Hannah Clapp, wife of Samuel,and dau in law Miriam (wife of Joseph), and grandson Joseph (Genealogical Directory of the First Settlers of New England, Volume III, page 74)
