William ? There is a tradition that William Morgan b 1693, son of John Morgan b Mar 1645, son of James Morgan b 1607, used to say that his father John had a very old little book in which was written the name of "William Morgan of Llandaff" (Wales) and was dated before 1600 who he said was the father of our first James the Emigrant.
There are other circumstances which strengthen the probabilities of this tradition. This William also had a pair of gold sleeve buttons of antique make, and having 'WM' rudely but plainly stamped on each which were said to have come down as an "heir loom" from William of Llandaff.
