Joel and Isaac were brothers with Isaac marrying Eunice's sister, Lydia. Joel was a cooper and a tailor by trade and was a member of the First Church in New Milford, CT. He was very religious, a good reader, and a good businessman. He lived for a short time in Brookfield but returned to N Mil. before his death.
Another account says that he was a brother of Abraham rather than a son and that Joel's father was Thomas.
