... information ... from an elderly man who had spent many years researching the Nesfield family name, ... according to records held in Bolton Abbey, Dagobert II had married Matilde of Irish descent, and later lived in York after being expelled from France. While in York he is said to have married the daughter of an Anglo-Saxon landowner, called Imayne Naasfeld, by Ariano/Celtic Church Rites. He left her pregnant, and returned to France in 671, where he married Giselle de Razes. The Nesfield family are supposed to descend from this York landowner.
