NAME: Addendum gives possible alternate surname as Stenton; date of marriage to Thomas Bingham given as 5 July 1631; in photocopy of Family Register (from a bible?, same hand and format as one giving children of Calvin Bingham, etc.) name given as Anna Stanton. Letter of 24 Feb 1997 from Don N. Bingham of Surrey, U.K. says Anne
"The Bingham Family in America" (1996) by D. B. Munger, p. 1-1, says the confusion about Fenton vs. Stenton arose "... from the lack of familiarity with old English writing in which a capital F was made by writing two lower case f's. Thus 'ff' should have been read as 'F' and not 'st'." The correct name was indeed Fenton.
BIRTH: Formerly listed as abt 1611; "The Bingham Family in the United States..." by Donna Bingham Munger, 1996 suggests she was born in 1606. Likewise letter of 24 Feb 1997 from Don N. Bingham of Surrey, U.K.
