Letter fo 12 Dec 1997 from Ellen D K Roston: She claimed to be a neice of the famous Adolph Thiers (1797-1877); he was the French statesman who held many posts in his lifetime , in 1871 being president of the Republic. The dates make it more likely that he was her great uncle than her uncle.
