Thomas Hooker in 1636, and who moved to Saybrook, Conn., in 1639, is said to have been identical with, but more probably the father of William Hyde, one of the thirty-five original proprietors of Norwich, Conn., where he settled in 1659 with his son Samuel and his son-in-law John Post.
