"Robert de Morton served in Parliament for the County of Nottingham in 1347, 1351, 1352, and 1355. In 1355 a fine was levied between Robert, Joan his wife, abd William Street Quer and Hugh de Hercy Chr. Deforc,, of the Manour of Morton in Bawtry; which the said Hugh acknowledged to be the right of the said Robert and was after the death of Joan, the wife of Gerrard de Skinton aforementioned who held it in dower to revert to the said Robert and Joan his wife and William and the heirs of the said Robert." "In 1357, he was agin returned for Nottinghamshire in the parliament then held; at which time he is mentioned as a Knight. In 1362 he was Escheator of Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire and also in 1367. He was elected one of the Knights for Nottinghamshire in 1368 and 1384.
