"List of Magna Charta 'Sureties' ..." in Steve Clare papers has the following which conflicts with dates given by above: third son of Thurston le Despencer, steward to, Henry I accompanied King Richard "the Lion-hearted" to teh Holy Land and was with him at the seige of Acre. In 1224, he was sheriff of salop and stafford. In 1226, he was sheriff of Berkshire and Govenor of Wallingford castle and sheriff of Bosesover Castle in Derby. In 1237, he was sheriff of chester and Benton.
