In 1811, Israel built a grist mill in Weybridge, VT. In the 1820 Census, Israel was living in Middlebury, Addison Co., VT. and perhaps was there building another gristmill. According to a descendant of Israel's, Linda Stowe Miller of Ferrisburg, VT, Israel taught his grandsons the milling trade, but this would have been later. These Stowe grandsons set up their business in Middlebury, VT, and this business was in the family for four generations. Israel's gristmill in Weybridge was sold to LJ Hall. In the census for 1810, 1830 and 1850, Israel was living in Weybridge, dying there in 1856 and was buried in West Cemetery, New Haven, VT.
Two of Israel's sons, Joseph & Alonzo, settled in Ohio; daughter, Philomelia & family in Illinois; and daughter, Melissa & family in Michigan. Daughters, Abigail & Clarissa, married and remained in the Weybridge, VT, area.
Linda Stowe Miller and Charles William Marsh are both descendants of Israel and both have submitted Marsh genealogies to the LDS Genealogy Center.
According to a family Bible belonging to Israel Marsh, his birth date is Feb. 24, 1777 and that he was married at Addison, Addison, VT.
