BIOGRAPHY: moved to Duluth, Minnesota
letter dated 24 Feb 1997 from Ellen Roston & chart of descendants of John Douglas by A.M.Bingham 2 children, 5 grandchildren
per e-mail from Ruly Knox:
Renwick founded a successful dredging company in Detroit named The Great Lakes Dredging Company. His son, "Mack", moved the business to Tampa where his grandson, Renwick, continued managing the company after Mack's death.
He had exceptional memory. He gave a clerk a $20 bill. When the clerk gave him change for only a $10 bill, Renwick was able to quote him the serial # of the $20 bill he'd just given to the clerk.

Isaac Marsh was selected by the Plainsville, CT Separatists to go to Sharon, VT. to choose an area where they could move to begin a new colony. William or Willard Shepard was also selected to go. It was Abt. 1764 when Isaac stayed the whole winter to hold this land at Sharon, VT, for the people of Plainsfield, CT. Supposedly, the following spring, many Separatists, including many Marshes from Plainfield, went to Sharon, VT. to settle there.
Although Isaac went as a scout to Sharon, VT and was known as one of its first settlers, he returned to Plainfield, CT and died there.
Wm. Shepard may have been related to Isaac since Isaac's Grandma Hannah's maiden name was Shepard, and his Dau. also married into the Shepard family.
Three of Isaac's sons served in the Rev. War: Nathaniel, Joel, Jr. & James.
